Myagdi Khola Hydropower Project
Introduction
Myagdi Khola Hydropower Project (MKHPP) is a Run-of-River type project with installed capacity of 65 MW and located in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality of Myagdi District of Nepal. It utilizes 12.5 m3/s design discharge and 636.5m gross head to generate 335.99 GWh of energy annually.
The design discharge will be diverted with the help of diversion weir and will pass through a double bay desander basin. The desander basin will filter out the suspended sediment and clear water will be conveyed via 6.2 km long tunnel, vertical shafts and horizontal shafts to the powerhouse located at Jeltung village.
The generated energy will be evacuated to Dandakhet substation via 17 km long 132 kV double circuit Transmission Line.

Myagdi Khola Hydro Energy Project
Currently, Hydro Village Pvt. Ltd. is promoting 57.3 MW Myagdi Khola HPP, meanwhile the sister organization of Hydro Village is developing two projects with total capacities of 32.5 MW. The company aims to develop 500MW hydropower project by 2035 AD.
The main principle of the hydropower is conversion of mechanical energy of flowing water into electrical energy. In this project flowing water of two rivers namely Kunaban Khola and Myagdi Khola will be diverted to powerhouse via series of civil strutures. In powerhouse three numbers of pelton turbines-generator sets will covert the energy of flowing water into electrical energy. Thus generated hydro electrical energy will be evacuated via 132 kV transmission line to national grid.
